- 1st you need to boot the system in safe-mode to do that restart your pc & keep pressing F8 until you don't see a black screen with lot of options click on safe-mode the system should boot in safe-mode!
- 2nd Once you are at the Account Log on Screen click on the Administrator account.Now click on Start menu>Control panel>Administrative Tools>Click Computer Management.
- 3rd Now Double click Local Users and Groups>Double click the folder Users& right click on that user name that is locked & click on set password you will get a warning message about changing the password just click on proceed.Now Leave the New Password box &also leave the Confirm Password box blank.click on ok& again ok & now try to log in.

there is an easy way to do it connect a computer to the same network as the xp , boot the os with backtrack and enter these commands

with that command is your password reset type exit to close
